All-State Ensemble Includes Providence Middle, High Students

On November 22, six Providence students auditioned with the Rhode Island Music Education Association for the All-State Ensemble.

Five of the six young musicians were accepted, with Kexin Zheng being named the very first alternate in the senior flute division. Another student, Louisa Bay, was ranked first in her instrument for the entire state! Both attend Classical High School. Congratulations to the following All-State Ensemble students from Providence Schools: Lousia Bay – Classical High School, Grade 9, Strings-Violin, Junior All-State Orchestra –  Ranked first in the state Yohji Braude – Classical High School, Grade 11, Vocal-Soprano, Senior All-State Women’s Chorus Aaron Cho – Classical High School, Grade 10, Strings-Cello, Senior All-State Orchestra Nia Polanco – Roger Williams Middle School, Grade 8, Classical Guitar, Junior All-State Guitar Ensemble Nancy Xiong – Gilbert Stuart Middle School, Grade 8, Classical Guitar, Junior All-State Guitar Ensemble    Kexin (Grace) Zheng – Classical High School, Grade 11, Winds-Flute, First alternate for Senior All-State This year’s All-State Concert will take place on Sunday, March 22, 2015 at Veterans Memorial Auditorium in Providence.
