The Robert L. Bailey Elementary School has embarked on a kindness initiative. Their first event was recording a school-wide video singing Taylor Swift’s song, “Shake It Off.” This exemplifies our “shaking off” the negative experiences, comments and situations that occur in all of our lives, said music teacher Cathleen Markovitz.

The video will be uploaded to social media. The school plans to invite Taylor Swift to visit Bailey and help spark kindness.

An active music program is underway at Bailey this month. On December 2, the school’s chorus of over 100 students filled two busses and travelled to the State House to sing songs of peace, love, hope and kindness for the holiday season. The students then toured the Office of Secretary of State A. Ralph Mollis.

The Bailey Concert with the chorus and band will be held on Thursday, December 18 at 9:30 a.m.

The 9th annual Community SING will be held on Friday, December 19 at 9:30 featuring all classrooms at Bailey.
