On Saturday, May 16, Del Sesto Middle School hosted a “Color Run, Roll, or Walk to End Bullying,” organized by Student Council President Ashley Rodriguez and Advisor Kaleen O’Leary.
The Garden Club at DelSesto Middle School was awarded an America the Beautiful grant to plant a grove of trees behind the school to create an outdoor learning space.
Students from Providence’s DelSesto Middle School will take to the greens for their spring golf season at Button Hole golf course as part of a new partnership between the school and the Providence After School Alliance (PASA). Teacher Jessica Sylvester initiated the program last year, with just a few children, in cooperation with Button Hole Head Pro Dan Gaughan. Word spread and interest grew, as the fledgling group built their skills and paid a visit to the CVS Charity Classic last summer.
The Providence Youth Guitar Ensemble, along with Feinstein/Sackett Street students in grades 3-5, performed at the 11th Annual Night of the Living Guitars concert at the Wheeler School in Providence on January 30.
Students and teachers at DelSesto Middle School, along with family and friends, gathered on November 6 to dedicate a swamp white oak “Tribute Tree” in honor of teacher William Glad, who passed away last summer in an accidental drowning. The tree was planted by the City of Providence with the assistance of DelSesto’s Gardening Club in front of the school building.
