Congratulations to our winter sports teams as several of them either clinched state championships or competed for one!
In games played at the PCTA Field House, Nathan Bishop won the Providence Middle School Basketball Championship for both the boys and girls teams.
The boys team is coached by Galo “Ruben” Reyes and the girls team is coached by Richard Belisle and Rebecca Janeshefskie. Esek Hopkins was the boys runner-up and Nathanael Greene was the girls runner-up.

Things don’t always go according to plan, as the Nathan Bishop/Mt. Hope Learning Center Robotics Team learned in the First Lego League Robot Invitational held on January 24 at Bryant University. When that happens, quick thinking and perseverance can save the day.
Nathan Bishop Middle School’s Lego Robotics Team, the East Side Crows, is also participating the FIRST Lego League (FLL) and was required to build and program an autonomous robot, using the Lego MINDSTORMS robot set to score points on a thematic playing surface, create innovative solutions to a problem, all while being guided by FLL Core Values.

Supported by representatives of afterschool programs for youth as well as students and teachers at Nathan Bishop Middle School in Providence, U.S. Congressman David N. Cicilline unveiled new legislation designed to strengthen afterschool activities. The legislation, introduced at a press conference on Monday, October 6 at Nathan Bishop, will help children and families by investing in high-quality afterschool programs nationwide.
